I got brow lamination as well as a lash lift done recently in March. I’m honestly loving the brows so far almost a month later but will probably pass on getting regular lash lifts.
My main issue with the lash lift is the “in-between“ phase - generally, it should last about two months, or however long your lash lifecycle takes (your permed lashes don’t return to their normal texture, just replaced once they eventually fall out) so, as of one month later, mine are quite hard to manage as they are now half lifted and half normal. This is around the time you are recommended to get them lifted again but it’s honestly not worth it, in my opinion. Also important to note that when I wear mascara, it smudges across my brow bone no matter how much more powder/concealer I add.
Although you may (will) look insane for a few days after brow lamination, I really love the new texture that allows me to hold and style them the way I like. Brow lamination should typically last for about a month but it’s definitely worth it if even brow gel can’t hold them in place.
Two new products, along with a SPF favorite, have brought life back to my complexion. I can’t say enough good things about COSRX snail mucin essence along with Avène skin recovery cream which seem to have improved/repaired my skin barrier and lock in moisture so that my face feels softer even when I wash it off at night.
Since reordering past favorites, I have been feeling more like myself again. IGK Mistress hair balm as well as Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede are still so good and I’m not sure why I didn’t immediately reup once they were empty. I did try the Hourglass stick foundation for the first time and it’s as amazing as everyone says it is - the primer is also very good but it gives a serious white cast, I prefer the invisible yet hydrating Smashbox vitamin glow primer.
My new work commute is much longer due to traffic so if I’m not playing music, I am either listening to audiobooks or podcasts. Noteworthy podcasts: NoDap, Everything Is The Best with Pia, Tell Me Everything with Lanz.
New additions to my reading list:
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black (first read in our new book club!)
Funny Weather: Art in an Emergency by Olivia Laing
The Interpretation of Dreams by Sigmund Freud
Quick note, I really love raw beets again - a great addition to salads and juicing. Hot honey, hemp hearts, and ginger turmeric probiotic drinks are also new favorites.
